About Us
Established 1975
Warlingham Furniture is a family business based in Warlingham, Surrey with a strong reputation in the UK and USA for high quality furniture and customer service.
The company's managing director, Terence Facey, began his career in the
furniture business in 1975, restoring antiques and making one-off pieces.
He studied and became a specialist in the lost art of oyster veneer work, a craft originating from the seventeenth century, where the log is cut across the grain rather than along it. The resulting veneer has a beautifully intricate pattern, resembling oyster shells.
Terence's business has expanded and developed over the years and in 2005 he took over the reins of the British furniture company Lorna Dewey, combining it with his existing company, Webbs Furniture.
A British family business
Terence's two sons, Tom and Emile have been involved in the business from a young age. Tom has a managerial role in the business, taking care of the company's logistics and enthusiastically maintaining this online shop. Emile, an illustrator and graphic designer, supports the business by providing his skills in advertising, web and catalogue design and his
partner Jo is involved in copywriting and website marketing. Jennifer Facey, Terence's wife, is a successful portrait artist but she has also long been a vital part of the business, lending her particular talent for hand-cutting veneer to some of the more intricate pieces of
custom-made furniture.
