1. Definitions
When used on this website, the terms 'Lorna Dewey', 'Lorna Dewey Furniture' and 'the Lorna Dewey online shop' refer to Lorna Dewey Furniture Ltd.
2. Agreeing to our terms and conditions
By ordering products from our website, you agree to our Terms and Conditions of Sale.
3. Order Acceptance
All orders placed by the buyer by whatever means shall be deemed to constitute an offer by the buyer to enter into a contract on these conditions. The acceptance of this offer shall be by Lorna Dewey Furniture Ltd fulfilling the order.
4. Order Confirmation
A receipt will be generated by the website upon completion of your order, and printer friendly version made available to you. You will also receive an order confirmation to the e-mail address you provide. Please read it carefully to ensure all the details are correct as you may incur an extra cost if a later change is made.
5. Cancellations
5.1 If you need to amend or cancel your order more than 4 days after you placed it, we reserve the right to charge you any cost we will incur in relation to your order, however this shall not be more than 25% of the value of the products in question.
5.2 We reserve the right to cancel your order if we have insufficient stock or a line has been discontinued without our prior knowledge. If we cancel your order, you will be notified by e-mail and a full refund will be made to you within 21 days. No other compensation is available for our cancellation of your order.
7. Money Back Guarantee
7.1 We offer a Money Back Guarantee and a free returns service. It is very important that someone is at home when the delivery is made to see the goods while the delivery team are on your premises. We will contact you in advance to inform you when delivery will be made. If you change your mind when our delivery team has unpacked your Furniture, they will offer to repack it and bring it back to our warehouse; this is provided that items have not yet been assembled in place.
7.2 If any extra cost is incurred by us concerning disassembly, then this will be deducted from your refund. This could amount to £150. This procedure allows us to use the same vehicle journey and delivery team to collect the goods in order to protect the furniture with the original packaging.
7.3 Once the delivery team has left your house, should you find the goods unsuitable we will either exchange the items or refund in full, providing notification is made within seven days of receipt of goods.
7.4 If you decide to return any non-faulty goods at any time after delivery we will charge you the cost of the collection and the original delivery, which could total £150. To enjoy the free return service they must be re-packed and taken away at the time that the delivery is made (UK Mainland only). Please note that this offer does not apply to bespoke furniture orders, or any item that has been changed from the standard specification or colour.
7.5 Due to colours of veneers and grain patterns we are unable to guarantee exact colour matching, though we will do our utmost to match veneers and colour.
7.6 The words such as mahogany, yew, cherry, burr elm, burr walnut, burr oak, pine and oak do not indicate that these woods have been used exclusively. They indicate veneers and finishes unless otherwise stated.
7.7 Mattresses can only be returned if they are unopened. If you wish to test a mattress please keep it wrapped until you are sure you want to keep it.
8. Delivery
8.1 We will deliver the items you have ordered to the address you give us for delivery at the time you place your order. We can only deliver to addresses within mainland UK from the www.lornadeweyfurniture.co.uk website.
8.2 We do not, through the Lorna Dewey website, deliver to the Isle of White, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Scottish Islands, Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland. If you need your goods delivered to these areas, special prices will apply for shipment, you will need to contact us(<<
8.3 We aim to deliver your furniture within the time quoted on your receipt, however, if this is not possible, we will contact you. If, delivery is delayed due to circumstances beyond our control, then we cannot accept any liability for consequential loss
8.4 Delivery times may vary according to stock availability and time of year. The delivery time for each product is indicated on the website. We will do our very best to adhere to this, but it does not form part of the contract of the sale.
8.5 You will be contacted when your furniture is ready to inform you of your delivery date.
8.6 Your items will be assembled and put in the place of your choice. Where necessary, two people will deliver your items, depending on the size of items and the quantity of products you have ordered.
8.7 It is your responsibility to check that the items of furniture will fit through any passages, stairwells, landings and doorways on the way to the destination room prior to making an order.
8.8 On the rare occasion where an item is damaged in transit, we will of course offer to replace the damaged item immediately. Please ensure that you inspect the parcels carefully for transit damage before signing. This is important, as we are unable to replace any damaged goods that have not been signed for as such.
8.9 Access to make delivery
Should we, or a third party contracted by us to make delivery, make reasonable attempts to deliver your furniture but are unable to gain access, we reserve the right to charge any extra delivery costs that are incurred.
9. Value Added Tax
All the prices shown in this price list INCLUDE VAT.
10. Guarantee
10.1 We give a full 5-year constructional guarantee allowing for fair wear and tear. This applies to UK mainland only.
10.2 Your guarantee provides that you have looked after your furniture properly- repairs for spillage, ring marks, water/ heat damage, or any other damage beyond our control are not guaranteed.
11. General
11.1 We reserve the right to alter the specifications at any time, without prior notice.
11.2 The colours of the furniture may not exactly match those shown in the brochure.
11.3 Prices are subject to change at any time.
11.4 The measurements indicated are the overall size and may change as manufacturer's specifications alter.
11.5 Contact us if the dimensions are critical. All items shown and specified are available and correct at time of going to press.
11.6 These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. Laws of England apply.
